posted earlier in facebook.. most of you boardies cook better than my "FB" friends (except those who are boardies..lol)

I am making Pepperoni Bread with mozzarella/provolone....    Just made Tacos..  did the ground beef and flavors from scratch for the first time ever.(sauteed onions.. then added garlic and cumin.. added the beef.. once browned, i added chipotle chili powder and kosher salt.. then added beef stock and tomato paste.. simmered for 30 minutes).. turned out pretty good.. much more fresh tasting than a packet.. i am never using a nasty seasoning packet, never again.    Also making chicken wings(honey bbq and buffalo).   Then making some fried ravioli (also for the first time).

For beverage..  i have a bottle of Smoking Loon Pinot Noir to start my day(already half way down the bottle as i type).   For late afternoon and game time... i will have Sierra Nevada Torpedo and Terrapin Hopsecutioner

My friends are hosting.. They are doing bratwurst, and kraut... We are hopping on the German train and making halushki, which is egg noodles cooked with onion, cabbage and bacon... I'm sure people will bring the usual dips and chips and beers too :)

Nothing too crazy since we are staying home. Jalapeno poppers, wings, veg & dip, mini pizzas, pigs in a blanket for Jess - she loves making those!

Going to buddy's house...menu ranges from homemade wings which can hang with any bar wings, to pigs in a blanket, cheese tortellini with shrimp, etc. Grabbed a 28 pack of Labatt Blue bottles for $20 for the game. Superbowlspecial'd.

I got a bug up my ass to make some chicken wings, but I didn't like what I had seen in the supermarket.     But a few feet to my right in the meat case were big family packs of chicken legs, like 14 per pack at a cheap price.    I bought two.      Pack Number one is following a "Mahogany Chicken Wing" recipe (soy, Mollasses, honey, ginger, chili sauce) marinade.    The other is getting my standard Smoked chicken treatment (Brined overnight, patted dry, dry rub, smoke, finish w/BBQ sauce).     They just went into the smoker a short while ago, with Hickory/Applewood being the wood type.

I didn't invite anybody over except for two friends who may swing by.       If anybody else is local to Denville and has no plans...yer welcome.

This Thread is making me hungry all over again!

Chx legs Done!   Note to self;  Chinese Style Chile Paste does NOT equal Chile Sauce!     Wow!    I made myself some very spicy Mahogany Chx Legs!       But still pretty good.

Another note to self:   When Operating the smoker when the outdoor temperature is 27 degrees, the firebox may need a little extra to get it up to temps, but BACK OFF.   I turned my back on it, at temps shot up to 400 degrees.     Glad I was on top of it.

We just polished off a bowl of preztels with some onion dip.

Dinner is chicken sauteed in garlic, evoo, white white and lemon served over pasta.

Not your typical superbowl eats, but it works for us!

it was cheetos, a can of no bean chili, two slices of cheese product, a 2 liter of A&W rootbeer, and some cosmic catnip for my cat and the new cat that showed up and now is my cat too it appears.
