I never realized how sweet the stuff actually is. These days, my go-to cereal is Honey Bunches of GMOats.
I used to like Cap'n Crunch when I was a kid

I've had many a good stuffing, but not one that tasted like I used to remember.
Like you used to remember? How do remember it now?
We were never allowed to have sugary cerals as kids.
Shredded wheat, Cheerios and Granola were about it.
Strangely, a few heaping teaspoons of sugar were allowed. ![]()
It's no wonder I haven't eaten cereal in 30+ years and have no desire to do so. ![]()

I have no recollection of ever tasting Cap'n Crunch either.Seems like we're better off for the lack of experience with such a dangerous cereal.
My parents would never buy it when I was a kid. And look how great I turned out.
Oh wait, maybe that isn't such a good argument...

My mom wouldn't buy it either, which in retrospect was prolly a good thing. In the cafeteria of my college dorm, though, they sometimes had it, along with a few other cereals, in giant plastic hoppers. I liked it okay, but it was very sweet and definitely annihilated the roof of your mouth.
Anyone like Cracklin' Oat Bran? Now THAT is a good snack, sans milk.

I have rarely eaten any ceral since about 1987, no real reason, it's good food. I don't like Milk, but it is tastes good in ceral, so this may be a large part.
I remember the Walmart thing about Sam Walton going to meet ceral manufactures and asking them why a solar powered calculator costs half as much as a box of ceral.
