Was just at Target. The have all the coleman insta-up tents on sale.

The 9 person one was only $100.
Quite a steal.
I would have bought one but already have one.
They also had the pop up tents on sale too.

I'm looking for a super lightweight solo backpacker tent that is freestanding. I already have a very lightweight tent, but it's reliant on stakes...which can sometimes fight with you. (Frozen ground, rocky soil, super soft soil). I've always worked thru the staking issues, but a free standing tent would be welcome.
MSR's Hubba Series seems reasonable. Still looking though.

Kang'dFirm'd.
Target does have the 9 person tent for $99.98
Quantities are limited. Call your local target and have it put aside.
(Jambear, none in the Nashua Area. Closest is Haverhill, or Danvers. Everett MA has some too.)
I'm getting the last one in Marlborough, MA.

I've had a NF Rock 22 for close to 8 years and it's been nothing short of excellent. I haven't done anything to it since purchase and it still doesn't leak without a footprint.
I use it at least a dozen times a year.

I have a story. I needed a tent once. And a really nice boardie gave me his to borrow, and I used it for a few years. And then we partied too hard in it, and it broke, and then another really nice boardie gave one to us for my boyfriends birthday, and now we have a really nice tent. Thank You really nice boardies.

Check with Mountainmomma (think that's her boardie name), she has a cool ass cot/tent all in one thingy. It will keep you off of the cold stoney ground but I'm not sure if the thing weighs 3 pounds or 30.....

I've met her and even saw that thing. It's pretty cool, but not backpacking equipment. It weighs more like 30.

mountain momma is a cool chick.... i have been debating on a tent for 3 years... i did the whole tent thing for 15 years before that... but once i had an SUV.. i just put the back seats down... set up and air mattress in the back(fits perfectly).. and put a feather bed on top.. 2 pillows.. it was like the f'n Ritz Carlton hotel.. but, if i am gonna start bringing my kids to these things.. i am gonna have to get a tent similar to the one at top of this thread.... but, like this past vibes.. i wouldn't have had enough room to set up... one of my biggest complaints of VIP this year... kinda got shoved in like sardines... but, hopefully that will change this coming year

Depending on the weather (you know, if its not 105 degrees), you can still camp in boardie/family even if you go VIP.

So no rain fly on this? Any one ever weather a rain storm in one?
I already had the smaller version of this tent, same design. No rain fly. I thought it strange, but it never leaked a drop, and Ive had it in some big downpours.
But, the reason this is on sale is because Coleman came out with a new version, and I think it has a fly.

Tabbooma's is going on 3 this year and no problems, rode out one heavy rain storm and some showers with no leakage, if its going to be hot Tabbooma likes to put a pop up over it along with some sides and a couple fans inside and all is good ![]()

same story here from last year, no leaks after the Friday rain.
i did find some rain canapes for them, kind of expensive when the tent is only $60
