I'm hoping Zoogma gets a slot at Firefly.
Zoogma! Like em...saw them twice in FL.
They had a great marketing campaign at SOSMP for a couple of years. THey walked around with a huge sign that said in glowsitcks "Who the F*** is Zoogma?" I never forgot it..that is for sure! Every time I am at a festie and they are on the bill I have heard people in the crowd saying "Who the F*** is Zoogma?"
Nice work Zoogma.

Or instead of covering your ignorance with insults, you can use it as a chance to expand your musical knowledge and join the rest of us in the 21st century.
I have nothing but unrestrained loathing for hipsters. I gave them a listen, and read their article on wiki. To me, indie is/was Matador records, the Pixies, Sonic Youth, etc. This pseudo electronic ironic no wave that the hipsters shoot their load over while waxing poetic is pretentious at best.
If you know me, it's ludicrous to accuse me of being close minded musically. My tastes span many different genres and time periods, including music that has been released since 2000.

The Pixies disbanded in '93
Sonic Youth hasn't been relevant in the '00s
and if you have to ask (not even like, but ask) who Phoenix is, you're not relevant.
btw you'll never guess who Cochella caters to.

I know when the Pixies split. So in the same vein, the Grateful Dead stopped being relevant in 1970? Phish in 1995? ![]()
Coachella caters to everyone based on the lineup. There's a little of everything which is cool. Reggae, punk, Johnny Marr, Chili Peps, hipster crap.

And they should totally be used to demonstrate one's knowledge of music from the last 20 years
So music has a shelf life now? I didn't say they were the only indie band, I invoked them to demonstrate what indie means to me.
Perhaps you should look at the definition of what indie, or independent music is supposed to be...originally indie bands were on indie labels...Sub Pop, Matador, Kill Rock Stars, etc.
Phoenix is signed with Universal. They are not indie. They are hipster shit. ![]()

Glassnote Records (also known as the Glassnote Entertainment Group) is an independent record label that was launched by American music executive, Daniel Glass, in 2007
In 2009, the label released French indie rock band Phoenix's fourth album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, which was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 2010.[2]
