Good Friday is observed on the Friday before Easter Sunday. On this day Christians commemorate the passion, or suffering, and death on the cross of the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Many Christians spend this day in fasting, prayer, repentance, and meditation on the agony and suffering of Christ on the cross. (For a more detailed explanation about Christ's death, see Why Did Jesus Have to Die?)

The biblical account of Jesus' death on the cross, or crucifixion, his burial and his resurrection, or raising from the dead, can be found in the following passages of Scripture: Matthew 27:27-28:8; Mark 15:16-16:19; Luke 23:26-24:35; and John 19:16-20:30.

You probably posted to my second thread, when I couldn't believe that anyone in their right mind would take offense to this. Apparently I was wrong and there was an actual complaint to the VG's about my post. They deleted the second thread.

So someone takes things a bit seriosuly around here.

Do you really not see how people could take offense to something like this that makes a mockery of one of the most sacred events in the Christian religion? Especially on Good Friday?

(L-R): Joker (Jack Nicholson), Joker (Ceaser Romero), Joker (Heath Ledger), Krusty the Clown (The Simpsons), ?, Captain Spaulding (House of 1000 Corpses), Pennywise (It), Saw clown, Jack in the Box (fast food mascot), a jack-in-the-box, Homey D. Clown (In Living Color), John Wayne Gacy, Ronald McDonald.

The KFC clown is from Rob Zombie's Halloween. http://www.filmedge....een/photos2.htm
Here's the jack-in-the-box. I'm not sure what movie it's from.

Ok, that's something, I guess. I supposed I undestand how someone could look at me posting that picture as mocking the religion, I just saw it as a spoof of a painting. I've seen that painting spoofed in a million ways in my life, and at no time did I ever think 'Well whoever made THAT sure does hate Christianity.'

Nice catch, IASW. Spaulding is from house of a 1,000, not the devil's rejects.

I need to watch those cult classics again

Frankly, it spoofs a seder dinner and while I can see where someone would be offended, if Diddy isn't, then I as a Catholic, won't be either.
I am secure enough to believe that Diddy thought this was funny, not a mockery and that if I was truly offended by the picture, I could close the thread and hate Dids.

Oh.. however.... the clowns. Diddy will pay for that.

Personally, I understand why someone would take offense. I understand why someone wouldn't too

I didn't so much think it was funny (though it made me smile, 'cause look at the clowns!) as much as curious as to where the clowns I didn't know came from.

Now I know. :D

Doesn't at all look like a seder to me.

Heck, it looks like there's beer there, which is a no no.

(Yes, I do know the story of the last supper is said to portray a seder)

How about this? I think we had the same paper tablecloth a few years ago.
