so i ended up rescuing these 2 cats last night.. one seemse barely a year old. the other probably around 2ish or coming up on 3, if that.
both are total sweethearts. especially the mostly-black one. total cuddle-mush.
anyways, i really want to at least keep the mostly-black one, but i am in a situation with highly-allergic people where i live, so i will probably have to find a home for them both.. and i think if that happens, they should stay together, if possible.. though i will do whatever i have to, when it comes down to it... here they are..

Buster (dunno why i dubbed him buster): 774146_10151196187106249_456383149_o.jpg

and Blackie (reference-point dub): 774653_10151196187366249_1549638337_o.jp

Hope somebody can help. This needs to be solved asap!  =)

This is the internet, ferchrissakes. you people LOVE cats...

both male?

have you taken 'em to a place w/a chip-detector to see if they're chipped? Not sure if shelters have them; I think vets do.

Feline HIV+/-? (in case someone who already has a cat is interested?)

is Feline HIV an actual thin?? dont know much about cats... blackie is a girl, for sure, i think.. buster seemed like a boy to me and i believe fixed.. but i can't be positive. i dont 'know' cats like that and i'm def no vet. i just got them last night, so i haven't been able to exercise any other route yet. i just know: No Fleas, No Attitudes, they Get Along Together, and i just couldn't leave them where i found them, in the freezing cold... :/
if they have a chip, from that place, it's probably better i don't know about it......

yeah, it's a real thing. where'd you find them? (they're so cute. if I had my own place, we all know I'd be a cat lady. got my hands full where I'm staying now.)

they were 'known' strays by the people who lived in the building they were in.. there are apparently mad strays up there and they can be an annoyance or get themselves into trouble, bc of the area.. i just couldn't leave them.. and it's getting so cold.. :/

Try leaving the carrier open with his food and water in there for a few days.

i have heard that can help. acclimation. kind of like adding dirt/soil from outside to a litter box to get a cat to take to using it. weird how they 'know' certain things, isn't it? yeah these guys are awesome. had no trouble gettin em into a box to bring upstairs or anything. the black one's really taken to me, more of the two. he only stopped purring to sleep last night. they both seem very happy to be out of the cold.

That, or get him and the carrier into the bathroom, close the door behind you, then get the cat and bring the cat in there with you. smaller area in which to run helps.

I hear you, re: strays, squish.

so many strays drowned in Sandy (Long Beach had/has an active TNR program, but there was no high ground for them to find. :( )

bumping this up again.. they apparently dont like dogs. mine got swatted even though she wasnt being aggressive. so if this is gonna be an indoor cat, i wouldn't have an indoor dog... help one (or both!) of these loving cats find a home!
