Sorry...my wardrobe in the early 80's was strictly black, white, and grey. I'm sure I owned parachute pants, but I NEVER dayglo and I never had as awful hairstyle as seen here!
It's a tale of two decades for me. Up through the end of 1985 I was all short hair and skinny ties, and nothing but black, white, gray, and blue clothes. Something happened to me in early 1986, and spent the rest of the decade as a patchouli-scented burst of color with a lot of hair.

The 80s for me were no different then any other decade except I couldn't legally drink (until 89 when I turned 19). I wear the same type of clothes still: jeans, t-shirts and sneakers or hiking boots - I did own a couple leather jackets though (growing up in biker family kind of a given). Music was/is pretty much no different still, minus a few heavy metal or punk bands and add some different styles now-a-days etc.
My parents shielded me (in a way) from the 80s, and kept the 70s going ten more years.. ![]()

ok, even after we got through the 80's, we still had the summer of 1990.

The Grateful Dead is how I got through it..........I did most of my touring in that decade, plus many other bands.....and finally they got a top ten hit(touch of gray),which they couldn't care less if it was a hit or not.strangely, songs like sugar magnolia, truckin, casey jones were never top ten hits, not even close, although got alot of air time.....longest running top hit in the 80's was olivia newton-john's'lets get physical'......blaaahhhh.........

remember those personics mix tape kiosks in the mall?
you go in and pick out songs that they put on your mix tape
you could design the tape cover and insert and name your tape
i remember mine had 'carry on my wayward son' (kansas) and 'barracuda' (heart) and 'missing you' (john waite) and 'too shy' (kajagoogoo) on it ![]()
i think i am glad i cant remember any more of the songs ![]()
i played it really loud on my boombox and in my walkman
with my big aqua net laden hair and stirrup pants ![]()
