I find that pain hurts.

But there are different kinds of pain...I've actually fallen asleep getting tattooed before...endorphins or something...

wow I love this picture! Again I think something will end up lost in translation when turned into a tattoo though.... I'd love to see how it would come out in tattoo form

In the exploratory phase, would love to view any interesting ones.  I really dig the above pic, although uncertain on how it would translate to a tattoo.

Thinking the use of color in this pic might translate well for color on the phoenix's plumage.

i think the hard part with the last photo posted is the bleeding of colors ~ which may look awesome BUT also, may not especially with time.... my bleeding tattoos i dont care... they are my babies and every line is a history - however, others may not feel the same. it wouldn't look so obvious with orange bleeding into other shades of oranges/reds/yellow but there are a lot of colors on the last image that may bleed and just appear black or murky .... good luck! i did a google image search of phoenix rising tattoos and found some pretty awesome pieces - can always take the last image or 3-5 with you and talk to an artist who will combine them and your own touches of artistry and wants for personal touch and create a long lasting piece.

Thanks Rayne!  I have also found that a thin dark outline holds back the bleeding of colors.

I drew a bird on my arm with a Sharpie. The executives liked that even less than my Hello Kitty earphones.

I'm working on a big piece on my ribs right now. Jeebus fuckballs, it hurts. But it looks amazing!!! If you were a little closer, Ms. Dee, I'd be your tat buddy :)

Crap, if I'm bored, I'd probably come out there anyway!

Ms. Teo, have you decided on body location yet?

Location will depend on the final design choice.   I would prefer to be able to view the tat without a mirror.

I'm with you on the visiblility. I have one on the back of my neck, my first one, and I would often forget about it, until someone asked about it. My other 3 are visible to me, and I like that so much better!

I'd suggest the ribs, but efff.... It looks good, but the pain is ridiculous.

Is this your first one, Teo?
