I did my first raw food cleanse last spring and had a very difficult time getting enough calories and had to stop my regular workouts because I felt like vomiting and then fainting on the floor 20 minutes in. It sucked. But the second week it was really cool after having had a piece of food or something to feel the energy move into my body during regular activity. It was a very cool sensation and I felt very alive.I think were I to do it again I would juice a lot more to get more calories.

Are you cooking them? Will you be able to eat more starchy veggies like potatoes or plantains?

A proper steady diet is far more effective than cleansing. There is no hard scientific evidence that cleansing works, other than the fact that you stop eating really crappy foods for a while.

Save yourself the pain and just eat properly on a regular basis.

This.

I have friends that swear by cleanses. They say they feel so much better after cleasing for a week. Seems to me that they should see that they start feeling worse AFTER they stop the cleanse.

Now when you say "warned" is this an official VG warning in advance?

What are you speaking of when you say you don't want to see them again.

I think I've decided I need to get with Tat to play an epic joke on you...somehow. Poo sushi anyone? :rotf:

A friend trying to talk me into doing some kind of cleanse once showed me photos of what purportedly is removed from your system. It was pretty nasty and something I'd rather not lay eyes on again. My guess is there are others here who feel the same way. There's a time and a place and its called the Dirty Diaper.

Going to be alot of farting. eating spinach and cabbage for protein.

1 cup of spinach only has about.9 grams of protein.

this cleanse will set you up for some muscle wasting and can hurt your kidneys.

These fountain bag kits are suitable for those preferring bags or looking for more economical options for their enemas. Also preferred for their compactness and as a traveling option.
Come in 2 sizes – the 2 quart Enema bag kit AND the 4-quart enema bag kit
The 2 quart bag ensures a good capacity cleansing at a very reasonable price.
Many enema users take in more than 2 quarts and almost 3 quarts. Some even go upto 4 quarts that is very suitable for high enemas and a deep-cleanse. In this case, the 4 quart kit is the preferred option.

Inclusions for 2 quart & 4 quart bag kits:
Comes complete with Enema Bag + Enema tubing (Hose) with an adjustable pinch clamp + straight- through nozzles (for enema and hose) + Hook + 1 Colon Tube (tip) + instruction book

Review For : 4 Quart Enema Bag Kit Posted Image 21 Nov 2011
I am more than happy with my recent purchase of the gallon enema bag. Several years ago I purchased your stainless steel enema bucket. Over those years, it has had virtually daily use. The power of basti is understood by very few. Indeed, it can be used as a substitute for pranayama. Most think that the purpose of enemas is to remove fecal matter from the colon. In addition to that effect, it purifies the circulating blood and the tissues of the entire body. It is a matter of how much time you spend doing basti as to the results you will achieve. As a former MD, I can state with certitude that if there is any mode of healing that is a panacea, it is basti. The sense of well being which follows taking enemas is due to purification of the circulating blood. As blood circulates thru the tissues of the colon, impurities diffuse across the colon membrane into the water or whatever you are using and exits the body. This results in decreased blood acidity, and increased oxygen carrying capacity of the blood stream, making more oxygen available to the brain and all the body tissues. Jesus himself in the Essene Gospel of Peace tells people when they are fasting to take enemas daily until the water comes out clear. The profound physiological significance of his advice is understood by few.

Ya know as with most everything this "cleansing" thing runs deep. J.H. Kellogg, yes, the MD who invented the corn flake in support of vegetarianism, was big into cleansing. This is from Wikipedia:

"Kellogg made sure that the bowel of each and every patient was plied with water, from above and below. His favorite device was an enema machine that could rapidly instill several gallons of water in a series of enemas. Every water enema was followed by a pint of yogurt — half was eaten, the other half was administered by enema, “thus planting the protective germs where they are most needed and may render most effective service." The yogurt served to replace the intestinal flora of the bowel, creating what Kellogg claimed was a squeaky-clean intestine".

Yes, cooking veggies. No potatoes - I very rarely eat them as it is.

I do eat properly, for the most part, on a regular basis. I do these cleanses 2-3 times a year - usually after the holidays when I haven't been eating as properly as I should, or after a fest when I feel my system needs to get back on track. The result for me is I feel much more energetic, alert, hydrated, and even drop a couple pounds.
