Sis is hosting Christmas this year. She's making:

Standing rib roast
Mashed potato casserole
Green beans
Glazed carrots

I'm responsible for dessert:

Pecan pie
Pignoli cookies
Red velvet petit fours

We've never really celebrated on Christmas Eve. Some last minute wrapping, followed by eggnog & Christmas music and watching the cat still trying to figure out why there's a tree in the living room.

Tomorrow night we're going to do Vietnamese...a tradition we started last year.

Xmas day...we were going to do a standing rib roast, but when I tasted the Niman ranch applewood smoked ham...I quickly changed my mind. With that the redhead is making mashed potatoes, pineapples, carrots and mushrooms. Cheesquake for dessert.

Every Christmas Eve is jumbo shrimp cooked in old bay and a bottle of heady as fuck beer. And filet mignon on the grille. Served with roasted corn on the cob cooked on the grille. All served with a side of drawn butter. Mmmmm. Good stuff.

Tomorrow, FIL is making filet mignon and salmon, we are making the appetizers: jumbo shrimp cocktail, assorted fabulous cheeses and crudite.

I made monkey bread this morning for the first time! I think it will be our new holiday tradition, especially since the baby loved it. It made the whole house smell lovely and the baking time gave us enough time to open presents before we ate!
