Bye Bye Hiatus: The Black Crowes To Return In 2013

Great news for fans of The Black Crowes as it appears the band will end their hiatus early next year. The HT faves last performed on December 19th, 2010 before they all went their separate ways for tours with their respective solo projects. A listing for “An Evening With The Black Crowes” was posted on The Capitol Theatre’s website for April 2nd, 2013 and quickly removed. According to the listing, which did include an image from 2010′s tour, tickets for the Port Chester show go on sale tomorrow at 4:33PM ET. We’ve got to imagine a full tour announcement is looming.

Chris Robinson has spent the hiatus building up his Chris Robinson Brotherhood project. The CRB has recently finished a lengthy tour and only has one gig left on their schedule – a New Year’s Eve performance in Denver. Rich Robinson and his solo band also wrapped up a busy year of touring this week. We’re excited to see what the Crowes have in store for 2013.

This is good news. I was just thinking today about them, that they have been on hiatus for more than a year or so and hoping they'd come off hiatus soon.

I hope the lead guitarist, or one of them, will be Luther Dickinson again. He was awesome with those guys...

OK, so NO ONE loves jackie more than i do (well, maybe missy) but i am struggling with him being in the black crowes
i love the black crowes cuz they are unapologetic about being too loud and in your face - just good old school rock n rollers...jackie is also awesome live but imho, he is a toally different flava...you know what i mean?

i mean, i am PSYCHED but want my good old crowes...

will it be just jackie or maybe he will be an extra fixture?
interested to see...are they divulging the whole line-up yet?

I have seen the crowes about a dozen times now. Most memorable ones would be Jan of 1997 in Glasgow, Scotland, or the secret show in scranton pa under a different name at a bar in March 2005 to open that tour, or the 10/30/96 show with Mule opening and Warren playing with them for a tune or two and finally the show where I got two snakes and one charm CD signed by them at Tower Records and got free tickets to the Irving Plaza show after.

It's not a great set up and the sound stinks. I usually don't bitch about venues but I am not a fan of this place. The only time I really enjoyed myself there was seeing Lotus. And that was because it was only half full.

well I think I'll give it a shot for the crowes anyway...maybe I'll check out a cheaper ticket band there first to see its awfulnesticity...prolly still see the crowes there anyways but at least I'll know if I should dabble a little or a lot in some shhtuff before and during the show!

i was at that mr. crowes garden show in scranton! got hang upstairs next to kate. but yeah...it's the robinson brothers and whomever they muster together for a good old cross country rumble.
