Now personally I fell asleep at around 8pm last night so I missed it all. But my husband is a huge nirvana fan and says paul mccartney and 'nirvana' got together and played one song he had never heard of before, which wasn't a nirvana song. Or if it was, it was written by the remaining two people in nirvana. According to the news it's a new song.
Wtf. Most overhyped "reunion" ever?
um, they didnt hype it at all, in fact, it was a total suprise because they kept saying "coming up next....Dave Grohl, Paul McCartney. We didnt know it was "Nirvana" until Paul announced it.
Likewise, Micheal Stipe doing Losing My Religion with the Coldplay guy was a really nice suprise.

Yes and no.
He was brought in as a full member of the band. There was only one song recorded after he was brought on and Kurt killed himself before Pat Smear got a chance to lay down his part. He was supposed to be the fourth member of Nirvana, but things ended a little abruptly. So yes, Pat was their "touring" guitarist, but only because he didn't have a chance to record with them.
He was a touring memebr of Nirvana.
