Are you posting in a vacuum?
Sometimes I think maybe it's just me
other times I'm sure it is

One person and an experience in a store.
Sorry if the comments came out as judging, but aren't you now judging also?
Some people like to eat poop. How is that relevant? (To add context to Apple and PC) The new Apple laptop, was replacing a windows laptop. Making excuses for people is also judging them in some way, because you are assuming about them too. Point is she knew how to use it, and if she didn't I would start a thread about how dumb she was.
How could the Apple laptop be a treasured belonging? She got it the week before.
People who treasure things, tend to be materialistic. I try my best to not be this way, but I do fail on occasion.
I see how the chick bitching about being broke yet keeping an expensive laptop could get you amped up, ill give u that...but im sure if papa found out the laptop had been sold for cash and a cheap pc replacement, that would be the end of the awesome freebies from daddy. I wouldnt risk that...

I guess it would create jobs if we hire more people to investigate people who receive public assistance and make sure they really need it... but do you really want to go down that road?

Why would everyone benefit?
Because we take government money?
Very confused by this logic.
(Everyone would have to pay a whole lot more).

I still do not understand why this would be a good idea.
Just sounds like more government and more spending.

some government jobs would be lost, others would be created. I think unemployed people would get hurt the most because welfare is a lot less than unemployment. If people wanted supplemental unemployment insurance they'd have to get it through their union, or from private insurers.
it's just something I've thought about for a while now, and I throw it out here for others to ponder and give me feedback as to what is right or wrong with it. It's not an idea that I have written in a tablet of stone and signed by Ron Paul.
It would pretty much just consolidate unemployment and welfare. Consolidation sometimes leads to less waste.

Well, TASB doesn't like the fact everyone is suppose to shut up about the topic because of corp. welfare.

TtB doesn't either. It should be discussed. Though on balance, I suspect that corporate influence and malfeasance are are far greater detriment to this country than folks on welfare/unemployment are.
