Why do some fests put early bird tix on sale with no lineup.....its like making dinner reservations without the place having a menu....
It's a cheaper way to buy tickets, if the tickets are actually cheap. The Camp Bisco Early Birds are usually 125. I'll gladly pay that know none of the lineup as it is a great deal and the biscuits are my favorite band.

I don't think you would hear anything from that car camping site near the main road...Just as I thought - car camping in the hilly fields below the hotel.
I parked there one year and the sound can be heard, but not very well.
Hopefully they'll tweak the sound so campers will be able to hear.

That camping area near the main road and the parking lot should be a huge boom for the local economy with all the arrests that will be made for various things.
Plus that is so far from the stage all you will hear is boomy echos.

Because you have been to that restaurant before - you know you are going and you know its going to be a great time no matter what is on your plate.

Simple - it's a great way for festival promoters to sell some tickets early in the game to people they can count on going to that festival every year. For those people who go to those festivals every year, be it Mountain Jam, Vibes, moe.down, Camp Bisco, etc., it's a great way to get tickets as cheap as possible, and it helps get the festival's money ball rolling. Most of these festivals have acts at the core of their lineup that are there every year, be it a host band, or the festival has a tried and true formula that works for them.

Damn - we were going to go with the non-camping this time since the Bettys are going all hotel on us.

So what happens when that restaurant does not come through like it did in the past........Langerado is a great example..you get stuck trying to sell aticket that nobody wants to buy..i go to fests for the music...save that atmosphere stuff for those that go for the party.Because you have been to that restaurant before - you know you are going and you know its going to be a great time no matter what is on your plate.

It's your choice to wait to buy the ticket. Mt Jam you know Mule is playing. Camp Bisco you know the biscuits. moe.down you know moe. will be there. For some other fests like Bonnaroo it can be a bit more touch and go but it's a personal decision. You can always wait and pay 20 bucks more once you know the lineup

so if you're lucky you might get grass to camp on...after my first and only time going I don't think it's worth getting sexually assaulted each time I want to go to the stage (security)
It's unfortunate that the only year you went was the one year they hired the asshole security company.
Since then they've hired a different company who is nothing but polite and professional.

Ideally they should keep the Condo/hotel gate open for us to come and go and open up at least two check points for the campers to come in and out.
Knowing Mnt jam they will funnel us all thru the main gate the whole fest and cause a stampede and bottle neck with nazi like security.
I love how the rules change there from minute to minute.

with the right lineup I guess I could give it another shot...perhaps pop a viagra before I reach security

With this many people camping outside the main gate i wonder what that is going to do to security and if there will be a major bottle neck at the main gate.

True True. Curious how that will be handled.
