Is It Acceptable to Allow a 57 year old man to put up an avatar that mocks suicide and/or lynching?

This is my halloween avatar, and just havent found something to replace it. I'll work on finding a replacement.
Had Royal asked me privately, or expressed his opinion privately, rather than trying to shame me into it, perhaps I would have taken it down right away.

Ryan, we all have our ideas of what's appropriate.
For instance, I think that writing to Depends and voicing your concerns would have been far more appropriate than publicly calling him out and demanding that he make a change.
I also understand that not everyone agrees with me. Doesn't make me care about you, or anyone else, or the boards, any less. Nor do I judge anyone for their opinions. At least I try my best not to.

Ryan,
I think you are missing the point. You could have very easily PM'd me, and we could have had a conversation, and I perhaps would have seen your side, and agreed with you. You chose to act like a child, and stomp your feet and demand to get your way. Funny, but I tend to act slower when someone does that.

This Halloween marked the 5-year suicide-by-hanging of a dear friend. We have all relied on black humor to get us through these times and personally I place humor among the highest of values.
Having just lost another friend to suicide a month ago, I have been re-connecting with our circle of friends spread far and wide across the country and the globe. Tears, frustrations, confusion, sadness, anger and indeed humor again marked the tone of our visits.

Its called dark humor Ryan.
It is not a statement about suicide or lynching.
Most famous comedians have a place and audience for it.
How about Monty Python for example and the bring out your dead skit or the Spanish Inquisition?
Pretty touchy subjects.
I agree.....if you indeed found it offensive you should have pm'd him and started a dialouge about it.
Not demanded he take it down.
I suggest you never watch The simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, any Fox comedy for that matter or listen to any main stream comedien.

And Depends, it also sounds childish to drag your feet just because someone stomped theirs.
That may be true. But I'm not the one asking someone to do something for me.
And, frankly, I've been dragging my feet on changing it since Nov 1, when it normally would have been changed. It has been up for 2.5 months with no questions, now all of a sudden I should change it because of a demand?
I have no issues with Royal, and I'm not trying to delay just to bug him. I would have jumped through hoops to make him happy had he done this another way.
Like I said, it's my halloween avatar, and when I find something I like to replace it, I will. Not sure if I should run my new choice by anyone for approval or not.
