So my hospital does not give the fathers to be a pair of scrubs to wear during the delivery.

I was wondering for any of you that wear them for work what are the most comfortable for men... you know so he has plenty of room in the pants.

Most places that I have found that sell scrubs only sell women's...... I was given explicit instructions that there are to be no kitties or unicorns on the set I get him.

I don't want to spend much, as matter as fact as little as possible since he will probably only wear them this one time.

Any help in this strange request would be helpful!

Does he really need scrubs? Tabbooma has some old boxers but would like to keep them, unless they really are needed

Deb might be able to snag him some at work. She's visiting her mom this weekend, I can ask her when she gets home

I wore my own clothes when my girl was born. I was unaware births had a dress code.

Dickies makes nice scrubs. Many scrubs are unisex. Scrubs are super-comfy for loungewear.

I never wore scrubs in the delivery room, the thought never crossed my mind. It's not like I anticipated placenta being launched all over me.

That would be awesome!

I hate spending a lot of money for something he is going to wear once. His shirt is 2xl and pants he wears a 40s.

I don't anticipate that either, but it's what we can't anticipate that I am concerned with. I would rather have a set of scrubs then anything get ruined.

Mike only wore scrubs to Aidan's birth (emergency c section)

he just wore jeans and a tshirt to both of the girls births (vaginal deliveries)

ya what ravn said.... he should only need them if there is a c section? and in that case they should give him something? when joe was born they gave jon whatever it is he wore into the operating room...

I think he'll only need scrubs if you have a c-section, and if that is the case, I'm pretty sure they give him a suit to wear with little bootie covers and a hat. I don't think they expect you to provide your own. I didn't have one, so I don't know how all that works.

I think Rich had on jeans. I don't really remember what pants he was wearing.

My doctor will let Cameraman be very involved and suggested scrubs encase I have to have a c-section, that way no time is wasted on him changing.

due to various issues with my pregnancy I might have to have a c-section.

We would rather be prepared and not have to have had them.... and no our hospital said they do not issue the father scrubs under any circumstance including c-sections.

I know at my hospital, only hospital issued scrubs are allowed in the OR. Nothing from outside the hospital. It's to safeguard against outside germs etc.

ya thats what id think...

also there really isnt any time wasted by the father changing (or in jons case he put something over what he was wearing) bc it takes awhile to prep you for the c section... when i went in for my c section i was in there at least 15 min before jon was even allowed to come in and the entire time they were prepping me. so it was jon that ended up waiting....

very weird to me they would ask you to bring your own scrubs into an OR.... what makes that any cleaner than anything else youd wear from home into the OR?

Damn, I'd love to see camerman in unicorn covered scrubs!!!

That said, when I used to wear scrubs in the dentists office, I found them to be so super comfy. Even after I no longer worked there, I retained my scrubs for lounge-wear :) you may find he will wear them more than during the delivery off your son :) And, what an awesome reminder of what will be one of the best days of both of your lives!

Not to be rude..... but no the hospital will not.

The reason I ordered scrubs was that it is hospital policy that they do not give scrubs to the fathers. They gave instructions to get some.

Every hospital is different..... maybe mine is trying to save money.... who knows...

All i did was ask advice on best brand for a man, not to debate over weather the hospital will give us scrubs for him. :crook:

Thank you all for the great suggestions....I really do appreciate the help.

Funny you should ask.... that is the hospital I am going to. But no, I dont want to spend $4,000 a day to have a private floor.

It is going to cost me $500.00 a day for a private room with a view of the bridge, and its not covered by insurance.

Given my patience level I have i think its best for the private room. Plus that way Camerman can stay with me the entire time.
