Unless of course that whim consisted of taking comfort in God because that shit is just irrational.

I have no qualms with anyone finding God, I was only questioning whether it matters if they find God because of the hope of another life somewhere else, or because they are so afraid, its all they can do to regain composure.

I always figured those who "find God" at the end, have a need for the belief or have seen something to bring forth such faith in the face of leaving this physical life time.

That sounds like it's coming from a non believer...ergo, speculative and a bit condescending...

Still think you're the goods though!

but back to the point at hand, do you think it would be scary to be all alone right before the end comes?

You will note there was stated neither a belief nor nonbelief, rather speculation aimed at finding God when the end is known to be close, rather than earlier in the journey.

No more scary that it is to feel loneliness when it seems there are days on end stretched before one.

Sex. Lots of amazing sex.

Oh, and things that we aren't really allowed to discuss here that start with the letter d.

...what would you do? Would you go about your day-to-day routine? Would you start doing bucket-list activities? Would you have wonton lusty sex with whoever you fancy, damn the consequences (what consequences?)

Would you try every dangerous addictive substance just for curiosity? Would you just want to spend time with loved ones, or go out on your own one last time? Would you be terrified into non-action?

In this situation, everyone knows the world is ending...no one will survive this event. This isnt a "you are sick and gonna die" typ deal, this is "we arr all gonnna die" type of situation.

Would this change anything?

Think it over, love to hear thoughts on this.

yes

Anything can and will happen in those 18 days.

The thing to remember is to enjoy 1 day at a time, never knowing exactly what the next day will bring, so live the existing one till you drop, then rinse and repeat.

If I knew the world was going to end on Dec 21, I'd be working on a new song with melodies we can sing as we all burn :)

I aggree...

I'd spend those days with my 10:00 class, that way it would be the longest 18 days of my life.
