Well, we didn't win, but we had a helluva time competing and getting to know the other contestants and judges and bloggers and journalists who came to watch!

the adrenaline was pumping ALL DAY! We started cooking at 11:30 and it didn't end until 5! I was so exhausted by the end of it but so grateful to have had the experience of cooking and serving my food to the public. I now have a newfound respect for people who compete on all of those shows like Top Chef and Project Runway... it is HARD!! I can't imagine being in such a high pressure situation for an extended period of time.
I am definitely going to enter again next year, now that I have a better idea about the sort of food that is most "adaptable" for a restaurant (the winning recipe is going on the menu of the sponsoring restaurant). I never imagined my cute little pot of pasta would be so hard to plate for 20 people!
In any case, just wanted to thank everyone for your votes & cheers from the sidelines

we had a blast and I would love to do it all over again... next year, once I've had time to recover from the braciole
