I'm not a bookkeeper either but I work with numbers all day.

Working with numbers all day is better than working with people all day because they are never bitchy or cranky.

This woman has had it out for me since the first day I walked in the door, and I have no idea why.
I've never been anything but nice and polite to her.

She has bitched at me for using the wrong size paper clip.
She has bitched at me for parking 10" too far to the left, in a parking lot that isn't even half full.
She has bitched at me for forgetting to write in the log book when I am late, yet she never does the same and is late 4 out of 5 days every week.
She has bitched at me for writing the number 9 wrong. It looks too much like a 7.
The list goes on and on and on and on and on......
The boss has told me that she bitches about me so much, he isn't even going to tell me about it because he doesn't give a shit about it all.

If it's the kind of office where you can't come right out and tell her to go fuck herself, then it's probably the type of place that you can file a report with HR?

but,

...my personal approach would be to show no sign that she is getting to you. Talk to her like she's an idiot... very slowly and deliberately explain things to her that you know she already knows. Use that tone.... you know, that tone.

Or next time she gives you a hard time for stupid shit slap you hand and and whine abnoxiously, "Oh I was a bad bad girl! I'm so sorry! I can't believe I was such a bad bad girl!" all while continuing to slap your hand.

Incident Of The Day

BB comes out to the billing files, which are in my office, opens a file drawer and glares at me over her shoulder.

BB - What did you do to this file?
Me - Nothing.
BB - All the files are pushed way to the back, you must have done something to it!
Me - I didn't do anything. They must have slid back the last time you closed the drawer.
BB - grumblemumblebitchbitchbitch as she carefully spaces each file out evenly and stalks back to her office.

Using the wrong size paper clip is my personal favorite.

After the 3rd or 4th time, I told her if she didn't like it to put the right size on and there will be no more discussions about paper clip size.
Once in a while I'll throw the wrong size paper clip on her papers just to see if she says anything again.
So far, she hasn't.

No, just trying to drive BB completely over the edge.

You could also fill her desk drawers with the "right size" paper clips. You know..to be helpful. That way she'll always have them on hand.

No way!
When I first started working here I made the egregious mistake of going into her office when she wasn't there.

BB arrives as I'm putting papers in her IN basket on her desk - WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN HERE?!?!
Me - Leaving these papers for you.
BB - YOU CAN'T BE IN HERE ALL ALONE, THERE IS CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION IN HERE!
Me - I'm not looking at anything confidential, I'm just dropping off these papers for you.
BB - BLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH..............

I don't remember the rest of it, but she yammered on and on and on and on.
Repeating herself over and over until I just walked away with her blabbing on and on.
