**** not including the 72 year old band leader.
I signed on to a stream at 11:45 figuring I was just in time to catch the third set with special guest and the show was over.
Looking forward to the tapes though. Dweller on the Threshold is a top 10 Van tune for me.
Very curious to hear Stairway to Heaven. That's certainly not a tune I think Further could pull off, in fact I'd think it would be a massive train wreck. If it was good, I'd be really impressed.
But overall, I'm really interested in hearing what Stanley added to the band. I've been a fan of Stanley since High School. His skill is massive and unique if you can get past the elevator music on steroids production of his studio albums. I saw Stanley a couple of years ago at the Stowe Performing Arts Center, a place so square they don't even let you take a bottle of water into the theater. IIRC I ran into Firerocket at that show. If you asked me then if I could ever imagine him jamming with the drvg band jam scene, I'd say no way. Kind of crazy to only think of Stanley in that light and find out in the past year he's jamming with Umphrey's McGee and Phil and Friends.

This band is definitely NOT Furthur! Jackie changed the sound completely, and I think its safe to say he's the band leader in this group, vs. Phil. Jackie took lead guitar and thankfully pushed fake jerry back to rhythm where he really had a chance to add something constructive for a change. And Jackie's sound is so far different from any boring sound you'd ever hear out of Furthur. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Bobby and see him every chance I get, but Jackie really brought a new sound and hushed John's old sound so much so that this was a different band completely. Jackie was even the one leading the direction of the music, tempo, key, etc. In NJ Wednesday, anyway. I am looking forward to hearing Stairway too because I suspect (unlike most pink floyd) they can really pull this off. Probably did it much more classic rock sound than dead sound.

i just saw him on sandy eve in RI and he was AWESOME
i think jackie is such high caliber
incredible songwriting and araangement
he can lead without smothering
he seems to bring out the best in all whom he plays with - well, cept perhaps chris robinson
anyway, i am STOKED for tomorrow night and really hope that maybe chris is in town
and if warren walks on stage, there will just be a tiny puff of smoke where me and my blown mind used to be
