the torches held by Garbriel on the deck burn at night!

the allen street grill WAS the pink flamingo

And I lived above this spot..
All this was after 3 years in the Delaware park part of Elmwood. Was a bit cooler further from the college scene, but that had it's charms at the time.
Then I was above a skeateboard shop that sold snowboards before people really knew what they were. Great area for small local businesses and musc!

awesome - a new live music venue is opening at the end of my street! It's been a nightclub, but a nightclub 3/4 a mile away from Chippewa cannot, and did not survive.
At any rate, this is great news.....
Well, that didn’t take long.
Mohawk Place is dead, long live The Waiting Room.
The Waiting Room, a new venture from Donny Kutzbach (co-owner of Funtime Presents and Town Ballroom) and Chris Ring (After Dark Entertainment), will take over the space at 334 Delaware Ave. from Sinful Nightclub and will be, as the announcement released today at 2:45 p.m. noted, “...not just…a catch all for music and entertainment but also a social hub and meeting place for people with all different tastes and ideas but one common thread: the love of music.”
Capacity at The Waiting Room is 450 people. There will also be a small performance space dubbed “The Songwriter’s Stage” when greater intimacy is required.
The venue is slated to open on Monday, April 1 and over a dozen shows are already booked, including Rochester punk outfit Polar Bear Club on opening night; ska legends The Slackers on Thursday, April 4; Shane Sweeney of Two Cow Garage (a longtime Mohawk Place stalwart) on Thursday, April 11; international rock maniac Andrew W.K. on Monday, April 15; Boston indie rockers Transit on Sunday, May 12; and Lowest of the Low frontman and veritable Western New York legend Ron Hawkins with his Do-Good Assassins on Friday, May 15, among others
