They scare the crap out of me. I don't see a minor fender bender ending well with a "smart" car. Maybe if I lived on Block Island or someplace similar I would consider one. Of course Louie would prolly have to ride around in my lap, Alice would take over the entire back seat. Actually, I'd just get a motorcycle with a side car, more room.
These are cool. Based on BMW design. It has 2 drive wheels when the sidecar is attached. Prolly a lil cold in the winter.

my father in law drives a Prius and claims he gets better gas mileage than a SmartCar. i haven't looked into the validity of his statement but i do know both Dave and Pop love their cars

What are you getting for MPG in your Fit? Any minuses with the Fit you have discovered overall?
So far the car has mainly received highway miles. It averages out to about 33 MPG. you can increase that by making some adjustments to the way the car is driven (using the race paddle shifters).
As for any minuses, I have two: A windy day and the Fit makes for interesting driving. And the dang door locks that lock once the car is in drive. I never fail to forget to hit the button to allow passengers to exit the vehicle.
