Since so many of you are concerned about the influence of money on politics and that the two party system leaves voters with a farce of a choice...and since voting 3rd party didn't get anyone the 5% needed to open up election funds (Gary Johnston got only 1% in Mass and looks like his most in any state was 3.5%) what do you see as the way to change the system...

The idea of a Constitutional Convention intrigues me. Been pondering it for a while now.

It would carry some risks, though...

throwin this in: it seems most Americans get their info from tv. break up corporate media monopolies (5 mega corps control 90% of news outlets) and allow alternative perspectives and candidates the opportunity to be considered.

In the podcast Question & Answer (about 54 minute mark) Lessig makes the point that event the threat of a CC could scare the legislators into acting to give some of the basic things we want, for fear that much worse (for them) could come out it.

Anyway, I agree it's a long road...but if not that...what?

If nothing else the mock CCs sounds like a good place to start, especially with the "amateurs" involved.
