Connecticut has a voter ID requirement but it's not as strict as many... had to show photo ID but there's other ways to vote without it including by affidavit... this is the first major election I have participated in here. When I first voted in municipal elections last year after moving back here I was shocked that I was asked for ID. I didn't have to show ID for any election in Pennsylvania.
My town is growing and they have a lot of people they keep track of.

to not be asked really bothered - anyone could have went in, said my name, and signed the sheet (my signature is on the sheet, but anyone can match a signature - and my signature wasn't even checked by the woman anyway!) i could have wrote mickey mouse next to the signature on the form and she'd have sent me on my merry way.
in NY:
Identification Required at Polling Places
Acceptable forms of identification include: A driver's license or department of motor vehicles non-driver photo ID card or other current and valid photo identification; A copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows the name and address of the voter. If the voter is not able to show one of these items to the poll officials, then the voter can vote only by affidavit ballot unless a court order provides otherwise.

I completely disagree. Try to match mine. I'll give you $5 if you can do it convincingly enough to fool people. Unless you're an experienced forger, I suppose, but those are pretty rare.
