Hey amazing boardies.
I know so many people are looking to help. I'm not asking anyone to help, but giving everyone avenues to help if you are so inclined.
if you are anti red cross for whatever reason another charity that is up here working their TAILS off is Samaritan's Purse from Georgia. Here's their facebook http://www.facebook....nsPurse?fref=ts They are looking for bodies and money (I'm sure about the money but I only know about the bodies). If you want to come out to the east coast I have a place to crash in NJ (20 minutes from the city) and in Astoria Queens. Adam and I are going to help this weekend, debating between down the shore and the Rockaways. But either home will be open.
I will be cooking food for a large apartment building in Newark still without power and this weekend for the volunteers and families (in either rockaway or Down the shore) who are in need. If you're close and want to come and help me cook YAY, if you'd like to donate $$ you can paypal me anjeesilentauction@gmail.com.
If you can't get here physically and are looking to donate $$ Betha Kaya (BK...some of you know her) is running a homebased relief efforts to those in her town effected. Every day she and a team of friends are making tons of coffee and making personal deliveries to the famililes in Brick without power and working on rebuliding. She is requesting no one sends cash, but if you'd like to donate you can send her supplies either from your home or directly from websites (although I dislike walmart they have a free over $45 shipping policy I think).
Here's a list of things she is looking for....(ok don't know why it posted like that but can't fix it). If you want her address pm me and I'll get it to you.
TOYS!
sweaters
hand warmer packets
work gloves
snacks
toiletries
DIAPERS
COFFEE
MILK
SUGA
COFFEE CUPS
blankets
pastries
candles
COFFEE CRAFES
Largish boxes
reusable shopping bags
I am also doing a book drive for the moonachie school district who lost all of their libraries (school and public). I have over 500 books coming from Scholastic already, and donating about 100 of my own. But would love some children books (the adult books were safe since they are on upper levels of the public library). If you'd like to order books you can go to https://clubs2.schol...rvlet/LogonForm
my classroom code is J3DQW. You'll also get a $5 coupon for your next order you can donate to me and I'll order more for the cause...and I'll get a $3 coupon that I'll also donate to the schools in Moonachie.
Again I'm not asking anyone to do something they don't want to. Just trying to help those of you who want to help to be able to do so.
Lots of love...we will rebuild

Tim thanks for the donation!
I'm just doing what I can. I mean I spend a good portion of my time volunteering as it is...but now's a time when everyone on the east coast needs a little more love....and I have lots to share
Also others feel free to post any causes you would like people to know about as well.

Oh and if you wanna order via scholastic there are $1.00 books in most flyers, then you'll get a $5 coupon for next month's flyer (that I can send you or use it for my next order for donations) and I get a $3 coupon that will go to the teachers who teach in Moonachie.
