Why do people not understand that if everyone has health insurance, it will be cheaper for everyone?

Where do we find this extra $$ for health insurance. I sure cannot afford it with my salary.

Because if you read the proposed funding of such that is not the truth of the matter.

Ok, yes, that is true. But everyone having health insurance will lower the cost of health care for all individuals. Yes, it will increase costs of small businesses, no doubt.

Except of course, the assholes without insurance who go to the ER and then don't pay thier bills. They will have to pay more. Oh well.

Unfortunately the law of supply and demand isn't fast and in fact is applied more and more subjectively.

my understanding is that small businesses will be afforded tax relief for providing insurance, in order to mitigate any additional costs.

Go read it please. Also, the Kaiser foundation, I believe, has a calculator that shows how the financials work out based on your income.

you already pay a larger "tax" by covering uninsured people who use emergency rooms. besides...that position is one most libertarians such as yourself, believe to be the case with most, if not all, taxes.

That wasn't the question. The question was what rights were removed by the supreme court. And the answer is my right to choose whether or not to be insured and not have a tax levied against me.

So I just voted, but wish I didn't, for at the polls the word is that my neighborhood is looking at ANOTHER 2 weeks with no power.
I wish I had stayed home.

what rights has the current administration taken away by supreme court decision?

I'm not aware of any that were taken away by the supreme court.

It's actually Obama himself that gets the credit/blame for that by signing off on the NDAA.

a few sources. minimizing bureaucratic waste and raising taxes on the most wealthy to start. just having folks able to obtain primary care will reduce current costs significantly.

If I was single with no family to take care of, I would be sitting on your couch right now.
Luckily, the schools have power, so the kids have a full week of normalcy...at least until they get home to little house on the prairie over here.

I've been sick for 2 weeks. I almost lost hubby to pneumonia a few years back so I'm a little concerned. But I am unemployed and cannot afford the cheapest plan offered to Peter from his new job.
I guess I'll just have to be another one of those assholes at the emergency room soon. Let me know when this Obamacare bullshit will work for me

Thanks. I've had pneumonia several times but this is something new and "improved"
Hope you guys are doing well. Its business as usual for lots of people...we tend to forget that so many are affected so much still by Sandy. I don't think anyone here is trying to be insensitive tho....we all love you and the rest of our friends. Its easy to get caught up is all and then forget....

Sorry :(

Luckily the polling place is located on my block so I didn't have to go far.

The volunteers were so nice to help me stay off my feet while I waited my turn.

I don't believe anyone is being insensitive for being wrapped up in the election. Life, the show must go on.

Interesting though that are going to be a lot of people this time around, like me, where politics is not what we're concerned about at the moment.
