in case any of you don't know, recently there was a documentary made on him called "there but for fortune." i caught a showing of it saturday and thought it was really good, and i know it's not going to get any much press, so i thought i'd let you all know in case you didn't. so here's a link to the documentary's website and one with a list of dates and locations it will be playing:

I have read the book a few times.. The doc sounds interesting, too bad it is not showing too close to me. I will have to hunt it down by other means.. For those who don't know Phil, I would say he compares to Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie style and political humor to Jim Morrison's poetry.

i wouldn't describe it that way. i think it's completely original and unique, no comparisons needed.
