You know, I was wondering what percentage of the kills the gifts represented.

And CP thought I was crazy when I suggested that our cats hang out at another house.

Living with predators is tricky business. My cats do their best to raise the average of kills per cat. I have learned about species of rodents that I was never even aware of because the cats have brought them home. Did you know that we have lemmings in New England? I didn't.

Unfortunately, sometimes the predator becomes the prey. Our boy Toki left home on the blue moon, never to return. RIP little buddy. Hope the end came quickly. Damn, I miss him.

i have house cats. their kills are limited to the occasional grasshopper or spider. well, Sammy's kills. Frodo is too lazy to kill. he toys with, 'barks' at, occasionally maims by accident. but i've never seen him kill anything.

they spend a lot of time staring at the bird feeder that's a foot or two from their favorite window perch, though. oh boy do they!

Frodo dropped a CENTIPEDE at my feet this summer. now, there isn't much that creeps me out in the natural world. i love spiders, reptiles, small furry creatures and most of the insect kingdom. but for some reason centipedes really give me the willies!

Mut and Kath, so sorry to hear about Toki's disappearance

I find Ginger and Mittens to be quite murderous when they're not in the house being cute and cuddly. >^^<
