Game 1, we face the fearsome Justin Verlander but the city will fling invisible unicorn fairies at him whenever he tries to throw that fastball and we will win.

OK, your Giants are good too. Can't argue that one.

But my Giants are midgets compared to the mighty Yankee-thrashing Tigers. . . nobody expects them to win. So it's oh so sweet to be a fan this week.

Why do some folks still refer to the as the NY Football Giants? I mean, it doesn't bother me but considering the NY Baseball Giants took off for the land of invisible unicorn fairies what... 60 years ago? At this point, there's not likely to be any confusion.

I called Detroit San Fran before playoffs, and I said Detroit, but their long layoff worries me.

The last 6 of 7 teams that had the shorter layoff won the world series.

No, there's no confusion, of course not. It's a term of affection, if anything. It hearkens back to a time where sports were looked upon more romantically. A time where the NY Football Giants were the elite, the class of football. If nothing else its meant as a classic way to refer to them.

What other team has:

A Kung Fu Panda
A Pothead pitcher
A perfect game pitcher this year
Fans with absurdly long beards and "Fear the Beard" signs
Splash hits into the OCEAN from the stadium
Garlic fries and crab sandwiches at the ballpark
A guy named "Bumgarner" who isn't even gay!

Kung Fu Panda is the ghey-ist knick name ever.
Linecum is non existent, and they are afraid to run him out there.
Not the only pitcher to throw a perfect game this year.
That beard, and the new closer's beard is so fake and over the top, it makes me want to :puke:
That is kind of cool.
You can get both at Camden Yards and Citizen's Bank Park.
Bumgarner, isn't he the guy who jumped from space.

Hater's gonna hate.

BULLSHIT! They already have 4 good starters and Timmy can warm up on 15 pitches on no notice. He's a super weapon in the bullpen you can count on for 2 scoreless innings whenever you need him and can do it every day.

That 10-15 record and 5.18 ERA is scaring no one. If he was in form he pitches game one. I doubt he even gets a start in this series.
