i loved the oral fixation/something to do with my fingers part of smoking, and being able to suck on a lollipop or chew gum reallllly helped...
for me, the hardest times were: after a meal, when drinking, when driving...and amen to the walking past smokers comment
i call the cluster of folks smoking just outside of a bar or restaurant the "smokers gauntlet" cuz i HATE walking through and getting that smell in my hair and clothes and hold my breath the whole time
the smell nauseates me now, even just sitting next to a heavy smoker who reeks can make me queasy
but i think its a good thing cuz it just reinforces that i was right to quit and has helped me not pick one up when the rare craving used to occur...they are gone now but they do last for quite a while
even after you have stopped for months, DO NOT think that you can pick one up and have "just one"
you cant!
tell all your friends to NOT listen to you if you beg for "just one" EVER
ask them to remind you how tough it was to stop and do you really want to have to go back to that again?
these are all things i would do differently cuz i did stop and start again YEARS later - but only for a few months, then i came to my senses and quit for good this time
you are right, YOU GOT THIS!
did you hug kia for me?
