no negligence because someone's direct actions, mainly leaving a loaded gun accessible to children leading to two deaths....had they had a party and those same two kids got drunk...the parents would be carted off to jail and told what horrible parents they are

The point is that these kinds of things happen every day, without fail, many of them worse than the 2 seemingly randomly culled pieces of human misery you've been so kind as to single out for our attention here.

So, unless you have some personal connection to something tragic and sad and were looking for solace/advice/sympathy/opnions/comments, which is what I assumed when I opened the thread, I see no reason for you to have posted these 'news' articles, except to say "Hey everyone, did you know that terrible, terrible things happen to people? Here are 2 examples."

Well, I felt that the thread sucks so completely, and has such a dearth of anything approaching merit, that I might as well express myself about it, leaving no room for question as to my feelings, and maybe, just maybe, next time, you'll think to yourself, "K, oh most perfect of beings, how is this post making the board a better place? Am I helping people out, offering some advice, or asking for help myself, or possibly providing some interesting information that people might need in their lives? Or am I just posting sensational human misery and saying 'Isn't this miserable?'", and if it's the latter, you may think twice.

Then again, maybe not. Either way, I feel really good about myself, and that's the important thing.

I alienated -Fish by mentioning that using the word 'Jap' to describe a person of Japanese extraction is considered perjorative. He replied that he has a Japanese friend who says it all the time, so he was justified in its use. Then he got frustrated and left.
