Kitty update...
Sage had to go back to the vet last week because of a swollen chin. Turns out it was cellulitis which the vet thinks is caused by her hyperthyroidism. Her thyroid issue has been untreated because of her liver and kidney issues that were more pressing. So, we got a B12 shot and that seems to clear up the cellulitis. However, she's not been well this week and our visit to the vet today revealed hypertension due to hyperthyroidism. Turns out this is what probably caused the liver/kidney issues to begin with. She is being treated with Chinese herbs to try and regulate her heart rate right now and has to start Norvasc for the hypertension. Monday when her bloodwork comes back she'll start a topical gel on her ears for the hyperthyroidism.

I'm a little nervous about the hypertension as it is dangerously high. However, this vet has treated her wisely in the past and I am confident that he'll get her through this.

She is doing good so far on the Norvasc and the herbs right now (although the herbs make her umm....a bit dopey)
TOmorrow we see the vet again to start the topical gel for the the thyroid issue.
I am so grateful to have such an amazing vet who is so dedicated to her comfort and wellness
