my poor overheated shredder! i think it's cooling for the 4th or 5th time. can i put the shreds in my recycling bin?? the pickup truck has a lift on it, i have visions of them all floating off in a wind instead of going into the truck.

shredded paper is still paper that can be recycled! just put a newspaper or heavier paper on top to prevent papering the town.

here we have single stream recycling now; paper and containers need not be separated, which makes putting fly-away paper outside in the bin, much easier.

in my town, i use either a paper bag or a clear plastic bag to bag up the shredded paper and mark it as so...my town doesnt reqauire you to separate either but i still bag up the shredded stuff different than the bags my junk mail and other recycled paperstuffs go in...for much the same reason, nancy...i envision a ticker tape parade on my street
