I

Above was your last post before I posted today. To me that says you still do not get it, that you were still prying for answers. Looking for us to "get it?"

That was in response to Sunshine's "newsflash" post.

Plus, nothing lets off steam more than screaming at the hockey players to beat each other up.

Watching sports allows you to be loud and aggressive, in a socially acceptable way.

entertainment. It sure beats all that other "reality TV" lolSurvivor.

the athleticism.

the camaraderie, and the social occasion with like minded fans, and team supporters

I find wearing my Manchester United gear on game days helps me strike up conversations with other soccer fans. there aren't that many of us, and we like to talk about it. it's an ice breaker. It also help identify the Liverpool supporters and I don't need to talk to them.

I like to wear Giants gear on Sundays so I don't have to talk to any Jets fans. lolJets.

and because my grandfather told me this is how it's going to be.

I don't watch sports, only played soccer as a kid for "organized" sports and some intramural skiing, which brings up the sports I do participate in like skiing, kayaking, climbing and the occasional bike ride which are all really individual based sport. I don't really watch any sport organized, individual or other on TV as it is boring for me. When sports small talk comes up, I go the direct route and just say I don't have any clue, find another thing to talk about

However we had split Celtics season tickets with another local family in the Bird era, I always had a good time, a lot had to do with a charged up Boston Garden and a really good team playing well, seeing the same people year to year in their seat, hanging with whoever you take to the game. I also always enjoyed my friends football and hockey games in high school even though I didn't participate, but that may have had a lot to do with boring home town and some good old underage boozing.

the cheerleaders and halftime nipple slips at the super bowl

when I'm watching football with my friends who like football, I'm looking at the cheerleaders... hey, that's what they're there for.

Oh MP, why bring up hockey? My son and I split the cost of NHL 13 for XBOX and we haven't even opened it because we are mad at the NHL. This is (was) the Rangers year.
