I agree it's boring for the most part. I do enjoy beer and snacks though. What I really find annoying is girls that suddenly become the biggest football fans in the world when they start dating a dude.

Never enjoyed sports on TV. I do enjoy going to games.

Obviously I'm not a sports guy. But, for a lot of guys, it's about that they were brought up by a fan of a team, and they're continuing that tradition.

My Dad's not a sports guy either. I was brought up on TV, video games, and movies, not sports.

If you don't like it that is ok. A good portion of the world disagrees with you.

Sports - One of the greatest social common denominators in the world.

Maybe that is a better answer.

Since I'm not a sports fan, here's my outsider opinion.

1. Violence
2. Money
3. group mentality/camaraderie

I know a lot of people who are involved in the gambling aspect of it. It's kind of like the dark side.

Although, even the "good" side isn't that great. Brain traumas and back and leg injuries. (especially football)

I think I'd rather let my kid do drugs in the woods than play football. At least their brain will still be intact when they get older.

what i find annoying are people who get annoyed over someones girlfriend or boyfriend getting involved in sports for the first time, and realizing that they kind of enjoy it...and then feel the need to mention it, several times, in different places, in an attempt to chip away at said couples enjoyment or new found enthusiasm of random sport.

It is a simple distraction of life, and it is something from our youth that we remember fondly and hope that our team can one day win the championship.

But in reality, we know our team stinks, and we just like to complain about that fact.

Again, it is just a simple distraction from life.

Other parts of it are money. Some people follow to gamble and make money, others do it for the fantasy sports, where you compete with friends for bragging rights.

Unlike Diddy here, I watch sports, and the stupid shit my wife watches on TV. I used to like House, but now it is over.

It is not about watching millionaire's, it is about a sport we can all play or played when we were younger.

For example, after going to a basketball game, all i wanted to do was play basketball.

I think it brings men to their good childhood memories. A game they went too, a game they played, or an experience with parents and connections they made with parents, and they try to continue the tradition or hold on to the memories.

Is it really so different than going to a concert & watching millionaires jump around on a stage? Or going to the movies and watching other millionaires pretend to be people that they aren't?

No, it isn't.

We watch sports for the same reason we watch movies, go to theatre, opera, ballet, concerts, monster truck shows or whatever floats your boat.

Because we enjoy it.

Yep. You either love it or you don't, as with most things in life. Really not that hard to comprehend.

No, not always. Sometimes we watch/read for pure entertainment or for a break from our everyday lives and stresses. I know that curling up with a good book is one of my favorite ways to relax & lose myself for an hour or two. Same can be said for a film or TV show.
