What is there to do in NYC late night for bars, live music, food after the Roseland lets out?

Tues Nov 13th is the only day i could go with my work schedule and i would love to take the Limo Liner bus in and out of Boston with a friend,stay up all night and Rage NYC.
The bus dosnt leave till 10am"ish the next am and i need somewhere to let the colors behind my eyelids die down.


So far i got......

A search right now has only come up with Kaki King
w/ Lady Lamb the Beekeeper
at Le Poisson Rouge. for $20
Not sure it's my thing.

Sullivan hall has that night open so hoping something will be announced for that night.

It may not be your scene, at all actually, but the club scene is open all night- I mean there will be house music booming until 9am, and its a place you can be yourself - I've been in there in tie dye and met nothing but nice people willing to dance. Look into it.

I always had this fear that it was for the beautiful people, and for those with money to throw around on bottles of booze, etc. But that's just one side of it. There are whole clubs where there is no dress code and that red velvet rope culture is frowned upon. Just places that blast house music and kind folks dance all night. If you can bear the music (and it IS loud) the crowd and the vibe is good. I don't have the names of any places anymore (moved out of NYC a few years back) but I'm sure some research in this direction could give you a good place to let the colors spin.

try Club Shelter on Van Dam street in NYC. I've not been there but it gets great reviews.

I can't believe I forgot about CoSM Wow, you have to spend your trip here. I hope for you they're open. Its the most psychedelic place Ive ever been and it'll be open all night. There MUST be some old threads about it from the old board. Wow. Alex Grey's art all over the walls (he and his wife are usually hanging out there) and rooms for bands, dis, rooms with pillows for crashing, a room of all Tibetan drums and bowls, etc. Good vibe.

I am pretty sure without you last time i would have been hit by a bus.

Doubt i would have felt it though.

I wonder if we could tempt any of the other semi locals and a fellow Pee out for the night? Dave? Tom?

I was thinking limo liner in and grey hound out since it would leave more departure time options.

Still not sure of any after shows or entertainment alternatives.

i like the greyhound idea
it cuts travel costs considerably and leaves wiggle room
always a good idea in NYC

would love to see Dave or Tom or some other boardizens raging the apple

well, my new job is cooperating like a champ ((((my new boss who looks eerily like tom!)))) so it looks like shuffling my schedule is doable
now we just gotta get tonys damn work to cooperate
i have faith it will all work out

Work is killing me.
They scheduled me to work on the 12th the same day i am supposed to re-cert my ACLS skills.

I am sure my boss will screw everything up by just putting me off the 12th and on the 13th.

well, i am choosing to hope that if you explain that you made plans based on the previously-released schedule that she will allow you to make up the shift on another day other than the two you need to do this

Choose to hope all you want but thats not how things in Hospitals work.

They dont care what days they gave me off or what I want.

It's all about covering the needs of the unit at the time, staffing and money.

My needs, feelings, wants, likes or whats fair counts for nothing.

Well, went into my work and no email from the boss, nothing in my physical mail box, nothing changed on the time schedule i am still booked to work a 12 hour shift on the day before the show.

Not sure how i can since i need this certification to do my job and be in compliance with hospital guidelines.

I doubt this situation will be dealt with for at least a few weeks.

Tried to talk to my boss but got floated out to a different floor and unit for 4 hours then i need to go back and run the unit with all the newbie nurses with no experience.

Bad night to be sick in the ICU i am only on for 4 more hours.

Well, my boss stayed late to talk to me.

Guess, she could tell by my note i was pissed.

Just spent some time in her office and had a great bitch session.
Short story she knows i technically cant work without my certification and since it's her error (she scheduled me for the recert and put me on the same day) i told her i am not dealing with it or changing my schedule.

I gave it to her 3 months ago and it's not my fault she cant figure out how to make out a time schedule.
I am not finding coverage and screwing up the rest of my off time for her mistake.
Guess she has had enough resignations and transfers this week to be a little afraid.


She backed down and i am off.

Looks like IT'S ON!!!

Just for the record her initial response was.......The time is posted and it's your problem now find someone to switch with the needs of the unit outweigh the needs of the staff. (bitch)
