Hopefully he's "just" dehydrated and we'll be home by morning. Please do not reference this content on fb. Thanks. Other than the aftermath sucking, i think i'm pretty okay with it, if/when he dies. His body's been cramping his spirit's style since his stroke. What a world. Thanks for being y'all.

Thanks, man. We be smokin' oxygen up in this hospbizzle. Pop snoring, smom sleeping sitting up. Me just listening to the baby with one kidney in the next bay over, hopin' they can fix her well. My dad's got an IV of fluids and is fixating on getting frozen yogurt from Costco tomorrow. I don't think he's going anywhere until they scan the f out of his carotid and stuff. That's fine with me. I love my pop.

Thanks, guys. I think he'll be okay. Gonna give him a cat scan, at some point, see if he likes kitties. braaaains. The ER doc is cute. I totally look like shit, all sweaty from judo. Yeah, baby! at least my smom and dad are getting some sleep.

ER doc turned out to be married. Nice guy. There was a great overnight nurse in the Nyack hospital ER who was just wonderful.

My stepmother and i had some really good chats about post-stroke personality changes and some other heavy shit while he got his cat scan. It was good. She knows I understand her and some of the choices she's made, over the years, better than i used to.

I love you Sarah, and I truly hope to meet your family one day. I have an instinct that your dad will be fine, and I am grateful to your folks for bringing you into this world.
They are so lucky, as are we all to have you in their lives.

I've been super sick for the past week... Well, for like.... over a month now. Bronchitis, chronic cough... hasn't 'healed'..... I told the PA that "I couldn't breathe" So she says to me, "well, you should probably get used to it if your going to continue to smoke"

Got me thinking about all the things I need to just "get used to".... the fact that my parents are getting old and I will have to go with them to doctor's appointments was one of the things I figure I would also have to "get used to"..... I think we all can bond together as we all 'get used to' stuff. Cheers to escorting our families to the doctor for the next 50 years.....

post stroke and as we age, hydration can become an issue...adding social aspects to drinking may help if he isn't motivated to hydrate on his own...a regular mid-morning and mid-afternoon tea break (does not have to be tea, of course) and/ or visitors bring him something he likes to drink when they stop by
