This is just not possible. I'll have you know that Gregoir said that Phish could not be playing MSG because the biggest act in the Universe, The Disco Biscuits, are playing the theater, and there's NO WAY that Phish would want to try to have a show next to that one.
eiiwww, the garden is going to smell of hippies.

'Cept for the New Year's Eve in Manhattan part of it. That part sounds kinda like a lower level Hell to me.
28 and/or 29 and/or 30 could be fun. Unless I'm livin' farther away from the City on those dates than I am currently...
Nah! Navigating around the city is EASY! Trick is to get there early and get room within walking distance.

public transportation
bus to the ferry
ferry to Manhattan
subway to the Beacon*
elapsed time 1.5 hrs
the return could take up to an hour longer
* could be the Beacon, or the hotel room of some friends nearby.
See how long I have been away from NYC, PT did not even ring a bell that it was Public Transportation, my main source of travel when I lived there.

Disabled Services Tickets
Madison Square Garden provides disabled accommodations and sells tickets to disabled individuals through our Disabled Services department, which may be reached at 212-465-6034, any weekday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
No front row no go! I'll see the Punch Brothers for a pair at the Bowery Ballroom instead!

after the miserable freezing cold experience I had last December 28, it's not worth it to me to go see Phish, maybe they'll book a warm weather show that doesn't occur on a random weekday at a venue with no public transportation access sometime in the next decade
no public transportation access to MSG? Yea maybe not aside from the LIRR, Amtrak, Path, 1,2,3, A,C or E trains. Oh wait, there are buses to.

No MSG covers the warm weather, I've never seen them play there except in the winter, I would go to a summer or springtime MSG show without even thinking about it. My comments about the no public transportation access have to do with the summer shows. SPAC can be accessed via Amtrak and local transportation but not really, they're very far apart and service doesn't run all night. Jones Beach can be reached via public transportation, but not very easily if you're in a wheelchair. Bethel is nowhere near any kind of public transportation, you're not going to go unless you have a car or a ride, not always a good option for a person in a wheelchair who wants to be independent. Worcester Mass. while I believe it is connected to Amtrak did not seem to have a very good way of getting from that to the venue etc. My point is that they haven't booked a Northeast regional concert that I can actually get to without a car in many years. I'm not exactly complaining just saying that they won't be getting my dollars unless there happens to be a show I can actually go to and not be a giant ordeal.
NOTE: I realize Phish probably won't miss my $120 or whatever. I'm just talking about some of my pet peeves here, plus I'm having a crappy day so it's all relative

For the 2010 run we had it made in that 95/97 sections action! Bummed that MSG got rid of that for us w/c doods!
That was sweet, being in the bowl of the arena really made you appreciate the show and enjoy it. I was at the back of section 202 or something last year and it sucked because I wasn't even really in the venue, it was like watching a concert from outside the doorway of the venue

The Bethel Woods 2011 run was the bomb for me! My smaller powerchair fit perfect in my best buds vehicle and these cats rented a great log home for us @ 4 miles from the venue. I passed on Phish this summer because I knew nothing was going to top those Bethel Woods gigs we did! That venue is...well see for yourselves! No MSG covers the warm weather, I've never seen them play there except in the winter, I would go to a summer or springtime MSG show without even thinking about it. Oh that sounds awesome, I'll have to do that if they do that again, not as if I don't have a car or anything... my complaints are really from a few years ago when I was carless and could only do public transportation... I'm actually looking forward to summer 2013 tremendously because I should have a lot of things in place to have a(nother) great year

Let me tell you my 2011 MSG story Jwheelz! We were in section 201 I believe for the 12/29 & 12/30 gigs on that stinky construction platform and at the 12/30 gig these newbie kids were yapping and talking loudly the entire show! My best buddy turns to me and says "Mike...you'll never guess what they are talking all night about? They are yapping about how great last nights show was!" LOL! I turned to him and said "They better not be yapping on NYE about tonights show because they missed it by yapping all night long!"That was sweet, being in the bowl of the arena really made you appreciate the show and enjoy it. I was at the back of section 202 or something last year and it sucked because I wasn't even really in the venue, it was like watching a concert from outside the doorway of the venue

Yup they were going to do this. But the cancelation will be announced tomorrow. So I don't lose any heady points. And I actually said I didn't think the biscuits would play NYC with phish in town and having the same management did not see it happening.
