I put this here b/c more will see it. If you've got a minute please help. The state is slowly trying to end EI services. So sad :( I know several of you have either worked in the system or had children who benefitted from these services. Thanks in advance.

For Everyone Involved with Early Intervention Services!!! Another proposed legislation is coming out that will even further hurt this program. Any of you who have had children in this program know how valuable these services are. Please take a minute or 2 to comment & send an email. If you are not sure what to write, message me & I'll send you my letter. Please share. These are our babies they are messing with!!!

In a nutshell, they want to stop evaluating agencies from receiving services. So as a parent, if you like an agency & want to work with that agency, they cannot do your evaluation. Or if they do your eval, they cannot do your services. Basically taking away your choice. It would be like researching & going to a great doctor for a diagnosis and then not being able to see him/her for treatment.

The text of the rule starts on page 26 of the PDF document.

It breaks my heart....

New York use to be the standard to which others would try to live up to.

Now we are cutting services and benefits to our children.

They need the help to give them the skills and confidence to do well in life.
