Cause I'm like, getting ready now. Just sayin' :coffee:
Those of you who have most of your shopping/crafting done by Thanksgiving and then have time to watch Christmas movies, bake holiday treats, wrap gifts and be merry, raise your glass and toast with me!!

I used to be like this, back when I was barefoot and pregnant. Didn't bake cookies last year but I would like to this year. And my siblings and their families are coming up this year so I have a feeling I'll be extra in the spirit.

I love the idea of Christmas and I'm not even a Christian. I like the spirit of giving, and the happiness and the baking and seeing the excitement of kids. I love all of the things about winter, and after cocoa by the fireplace, Christmas is my favorite thing!!!
But it CAN be stressful...I work extra long and hard on weekends and work get nuts with shoppers...but I never wanna be a grinch, so I start NOW and stay ahead of the game so I can just relax during December while everyone else is frantic

Why not celebrate that on another day like Winter Solstice or New Year's Day?

Because I already celebrate Solstices and my New Year is the day after Autumn Equinox.
Oh, and Peter is Catholic.

So if you need a reason to get Christmassy...come to the art show in October...he'll have ornaments on display

I have a few of those. I usually creat personalized gift baskets for those people involving food/beverage/hobby stuff.
For example, a poker playing football beer guy gets a new mug, a six pack, some cards and or chips/dice, a bag of Doritos and maybe an ornament with their fave team on it

Hey, its about the thought. I'm never offended if someone doesn't give them....its not a big deal and I take nothing personally :)
I prefer to celebrate with food/drink/companionship anyway!

Those acts pay it back in a karma type of way hopefully.

In reference to superbowl I have a couple but I hate cleaning them....starting to think a "super" bowl would be self cleaning....

I am hoping to get most of my stuff done by halloween this year, except stocking stuff. I start my "shopping list" at Vibes each year. Its when we have more expendible income because once September hits, there are taxes, service contracts, brakes and tires, heating bills, Football packages, school clothes...etc to pay for.
Plus, working in the liquor and food industries, my jobs get pretty hectic.

So, I'm more than halfway done. Now, when the actual holidays roll up, all I "have" to do is relax, wrap, ENJOY the music, or watch a holiday movie, maybe get the baking and decorating done, and not worry about hot toys the stores ran out of, :funny1:

My daughter and I used to suck at getting gifts mailed on time. So now, we mail all gifts out 3 months early which gives the recipient time to unpack and organize the boxes of stuff!!

Me too, it just makes things all the more enjoyable. All my kids have their own wrapping paper too - so I can wrap presents and not put their names on it - so if they do find them, they do not know which ones are theirs....
