YAY!

we are meeting up with marjie (kharmalane, long lost boardie ) at the SoWa Open Market in Bostons South End

its a really great market with several lots and buildings full of stuff
a lot full of art and crafts
a lot full of markets, produce and local foodstuffs
a lot full of food trucks
and a building with an antique market
makes for a really fun day poking around, meeting kind and creative folks and supporting local vendors







it has always been a really fun time each of the four times i have been so far

i usually take the t but i am growing a pair and driving this time
< not the most confident boston driver (able, but not confident)

i think we are gonna grab some early dinner in the south end afterwards, too...

they just called and are at the tolls on the pike now so they will be here in 15 minutes

there were lots of hugs and smiles all around
we had a wonderful day
weather was perfect
we had lunch at roxys grilled cheese truck
had a ball picking through the antique/flea market rooms
saw so many cool crafts
i fell in love with this metalworked necklace, but i wisely left the credit card at home
i swear, i could go broke at this thing

best part was hanging out with conni, peter and marjie though...we regaled marjie with stories from vibes and she took us to a profane bar for after-market beverages ((bukowskis)))

i hope to make it back to the market a few more times before the season is over! its a wonderful way to spend a sunday
especially with friends

We got

maple butter
candied nuts
brazilian dark and kali stippled coffee
pestos
gourmet cacao chocolate
a vintage skirt

had a blast eating the daily fucking specials and white trash appetizers
had Belgian beers
scoped out Unbroken Chains residence
got lots of ideas
saw cool furniture

got lots of free hugs and even propositions from strangers. I think they liked my penis(es)

i highly recommend this market as a sunday trip
you can drive or take the t
its easily a few hours and almost just as easily a whole day or rummaging around, meeting cool artisans, petting awesome puppies (people bring their dogs), eating yummy samples...just a ton of fun stuff to do, imho

goes through the end of october and i have a couple friends who i am determined to get there before it scales back for the winter
they have a hall space right in the same area where they have a smaller, indoor market
but it really doesnt hold a candle to the outdoor one, which is massive and wonderful!

taking the corn and tomatoes and peaches (making taboomas grilled peaches) to gillette today for the tailgate session

I am drinking the Kali Ko...not as full bodied as I like it, but it too is delicious!!

yeah, he doesnt go real dark on roasting
i use his beans as a blender base sometimes
1/2 something real dark then his stuff is good
i already mixed the yummy but mild roast i got and the bolder blend and left room in the canister for a half pound of something grow-hair-on-your-chest bold to make it perfecto!

So far, except for the Jamaican Blue I get in NYC nothing beats Folgers Columbian at home. I also like Tully's Italian roast in the Kurig, but I hate buying all those stupid plastic cups...they're a bitch to clean for recycling

Wish I had seen this earlier yesterday, we're only about 5 minutes away from there.

Doubtful....we ended up at Bukowski Tavern...they define "sketch factor"....but with like, awesome options, eh?

We used to visit that place when I was setting up shows over at the Hynes. Yes, a high sketch factor there for sure

Have tried all of "Q's Sweet Roasted Nuts"...OMG
Also is the Mexican chipotle chocolate and the parmesan/herb potato chips....and i don't even eat potato chips
