oh boy the interviewed our friend jessica from rock camp! so cool! rock camp has been giving jon tons of logo work and at impulse festival in georgia at the start of summer he was the art director for the installation art they were doing!

that was my response too!
i thought it was a good article from someone who was trying to understand...not terrifically well-written but fairly readable...i love that it was realistic and mostly positive

I don't know. Her article didn't seem college paper, let alone MTV news worthy to me, and while she did say kind things about all the people she met, she wrote about said people as if they were mostly mindless fluff.
And way to go broadcasting that some people are "wanted criminals"....not that we'd ever recognize their vehicle or anything

What's condescending? The fact that someone from MTV went to a fest where there are illegal and sometimes scary thins going on and wrote about it? It's someone's opinion on a festival. And I see nothing wrong with mocking some of the people that attend vibes. Hell I bet a lot of people mock the shit out of me. Who cares?

A quick trip to urbandictionary.com for a fact check would have prevented the writer from referring to the scary part as "Shakedown Alley."
I spent my first few years on this board mocking people that attend vibes. Unfortunately, I got to know and like a lot of people (no schmoop).

It's a hippie festival dedicated to outdated music. They cover pop culture.
my only real argument with the article is just that. covering this event may not have been the author or networks specialty. i think to cover something well, you would have to send someone who understands it better...it's hard not to stereotype stereotypes when you really don't know what's going on.

True but I also hate how jambase, glide magazine etc. Make every festival sound like a rainbow farting, epic, life changing goodtime. The only fest I have ever seen them bash is Camp Bisco probably because it does not cater to rainbow farting love festers.

dear MTV.. your fn irrelevant. you have been for over a decade and will you please die already. seriously.. kill yourself. worry more about the crap tv shows you have aired and continue to air that inspire kids to get pregnant ,clebebs to got to rehab ,douchebags and bitches to gather up and live in the same house ,and the promotion of seriously bad "music" yeah you are the espn of music. (if your reading this and dont get the espn reference you probably like todays music and the condition of todays major sports) MTV, You should try.. just try to get back to Music videos.
