my first parenting post... total n00b, I know.


Ana was supposed to go back to bed after her 2am feeding on SAT night / SUN morning.

she was fussy until we changed the diaper at 3, and again at 3:30, and again at 4. I got her back to sleep somewhere between 4:45 and 5:00, just for her to get up 30 minutes later to eat again.

yesterday was a day of fussing/whining/screaming/not sleeping... around 10:15 last night she finally settled in and Lisa says last night was much better.

ooof, I want a mulligan on yesterday.

As much as you want them to stay small and cute they really are a lot cuter when they start sleeping through the night

Well there's your first problem right there!! Don't you know that kids especially babies, NEVER do what they're "supposed" to do?

oh, i realize this, but she's been in this pattern all week, we just wanted one more day.

i've not slept through an entire night since March 30, 2007.

I've been sleeping through the night for about 10.5 years now. Only to turn around and start all over. Oh man.

she's 6 weeks... this weekend was much better... we learned a new swaddle method, and it's great.

swaddling is like a miracle. we had to swaddle jeremy until he was almost 5 months old -- each time he would twitch in his sleep, he woke himself up.

Oh Jme! Check out the swaddleme! Life saver! We were able to swaddle Oliver until 6 months in it He started sleeping through the night at 8 weeks. And there's no work to it, velcro was my best friend

Our son is two and sleeping is still a struggle. I will say it is easier now than when he was an infant! But I have been tired for 2 years pretty much!

have you ever heard of "the happiest baby on the block" by harvey karp? he was a LIFESAVER for us....great ways to settle and soothe infants....i am now reading his next book on toddlers...man's a freakin genius.
