The cucumbers were a bit more productive than anticipated. So with the help of mom-in-law, we turned 45 cucumbers into about 25 jars of dill pickles!

Woot! Awesome! They look so good!

I was gonna say "send 'em over my way, I love cucumbers" but as you've already found something to do with 'em... :funny1:

This thread will stay put as long as certain boardies stay out of it. :tongue1:

And we picked about 30 more cucumbers earlier this week. It's just plumb loco. The wife and I each took some into work to give away. This is definitely the busy time of year and we have corn, peas, beans and peppers yet to do along with carrots and potatoes. The work is worth it, though. We haven't bought peppers, carrots or spinach from the store for more than year now.

try using the jar mover thingy the other way (red part down)

made 6 quarts of dilly beans and froze about 10 lbs of beans Sunday night, 8 quarts of dill spears last night and have 7 lbs of spears brining for bread & butter to do tonight. have maybe 5 more lbs of cucumbers to prepare tonight for something else.

 ... I was wondering about that. I'll tell dad-in-law next time we try this.

Beans and peppers are rolling in and corn is tasting great. Tomatoes are turning and carrots are awesome. Some kinda slug got our zucchini, so that sucks, but we'll still have plenty of winter squash.
