and nothing hurts today!

not stretching or kundalini movement type stuff but i got my mat out and put on my stretchy pants and did a short vinyasa session.

i'm creating this thread so hopefully i will remember how good it felt and i'll keep going ;)

today i got dressed, moved the couch, rolled out my mat and turned the tv on. my yoga is recorded on the dvr box. which was dead :crook:

so i did some asanas anyway. most of them with the phone to my ear talking to the cable guy :funny1:

nah. but you know what? nothing hurts and i feel great :)

i had a massage for the 1st time since august and my massage therapist was amazed at how good my body was doing. i think it's this diet. it's very anti-inflamatory.

*but* i really need to start doing even just a little yoga. and after today, daylight savings time will have the husband and i walking in the evenings again :)

mostly vegetables. no gluten. i'm eating according to this diet: http://bodyecology.com/aboutbed.php

i'm not doing it exactly (i read the book, there is so much more there than on the website) but i have modified my diet radically.

it takes a lot of getting used to. nothing sweet is the hard part for me. but it's really amazing. i cheat sometimes and eat potato chips :funny1: but i've mostly been eating tons of veggies, a little meat, a little grain. (no grain w/meat)

My class had one guy tonight! The studio I go to has quite a few men over 40 but not very many under.

Our class has 1 man this session. He assembled shelves in our gear cabinet. All the straps, matts, blocks and blankets used to be all jumbled and avalanche out. Now everything has it's own little shelf. We call him "our man".

I've started doing yoga in the mornings - just a short set, sun salutation x 5, tree and dancer pose, then child's pose before some strength stuff for my legs and belly - maybe a half-hour in all, I'd like to add some more poses as I limber up b/c it's been a long, long time!

What amazes me tho is the muscle memory of doing this routine - it all came back quite nicely, and it feels good to be gaining some strength and flexibility again. Silly me forgot just how beneficial it all can be!
