So, yeah... I suck at the city.
I can never figure this crap out.
What's the easiest way from Grand Central to 180 East 70th Street using the trains?
Thanks in advance for your time. <3

You want a green subway the number 6 line get off at hunter college
where you going?
ok let me explain NYC street...
ave runs north and south (thats up and down)
streets run eat to west (thats side to side ) :funny1:

5th ave separates east and west side and the address start at 100 going each way...
so an address that is in 100's on west side would be between 5/6 ...so 200's on ave would be btwn 6/7

so I know that 307 west 57th street would be between 7/8 ave ... that make sense?

so where you want to go is on 70th near 5th ave...

OH yeah and park would be same as 4th and lexington is an EXTRA!

do you have a smart phone?

I like to use hop stop as my 'security blanket' when I'm in NYC. It helps me make sure I"m getting on the right train.

it's free :) it's not always the way I would take (i'd rather take a longer ride w no transfers) but it always helps me out in a pinch!

google maps also has an option to use mass transit...but sometimes it wants you to take buses and trains

while subway's fun, i will note that it's a beautiful 27-block walk from Grand Central to 70th St. if weather is cooperative, i highly suggest walking it one way or another.

enjoy the green trains.

Odd numbered buildings on avenues are on the west side of the street, even numbered on the east. On streets odd numbered buildings are on the north side, even numbers on the south side. There are a handful of exceptions to this rule, but it is a general rule. Should help you figure out what direction you need to be walking in.

180 East 70th is between Lex and 3rd. When you get out of the train at Hunter College head north on Lex (traffic will be heading South so walk against the cars) Walk up two blocks then turn right on East 70th street. Your building will be on the south side of the street.

Easiest way??

1: Walk out of Grand Central Station
2: Hail a cab and say "180 E 70st please"
3: exit cab and pay cabbie when in front of the building

I use NYC Subway KICKMap Lite on my iPhone.
Between that and your maps, you shouldn't ever get lost (for too long)
