Amber Mugford, age 15. Maybe in New Haven or West Haven. She was my daughter's best friend in grade school.

it is a different world, and I by no means am down playing the potential danger to this girl. But, when I was a teen, I knew more than a few teens that just went on tour. If she went by her own accord, she may very well be safe. I join in praying that is so.

After some conversations, I found out she's AWOL, rather than missing. Even if she has reasons for not wanting to return home, a phone call to somebody just to say she's alive and well would be nice.

I hope she is well....

This would be the first verbatim Amber alert I've heard of.

So sorry for all who love her. I had a child who pulled this one too many times. I hope her parents get her home safely and can help her figure out her way...

i did the same thing at age 16 :undecided:
left home as a petulant teen and didnt make contact for an entire summer
left home, my mom was a brunette
when i got home, my mom was entirely grey :undecided:
<<<< was a sucky teenager :plain:

since this was in the 80s, all my mom could do was wonder and wait
i was obviously completely unempathetic to how she and my dad felt, cuz i only remember being on an adventure fraught with so many dangerous moments that i didnt realize were dangerous until years later :bang:
teenagers are so dangerous in their thinking that they are impervious and smarter than everyone else when exactly the obvious is true :bang:
especially a dumb, world-stupid, sheltered teen raised in a religious cave with no "street smarts" at ALL :dunno:

glad amberlee went home :clapping:
