Jerry Garcia would have turned 70 on Aug. 1, and to mark the occasion, two days after his birthday members of the Grateful Dead family are throwing an online musical party that will be a live free webcast in HD from bandmate Bob Weir's TRI Studios in San Rafael.

so cheated right now...this refuses to stream in my hotel room.

Damn it! I have to pick my daughter up. That's gonna throw off my groove, but I suspect these old guys are going to be playing for a while yet.

*Edited to add: considering our friend's daughter has been away from home for days, I am happy that my own child calls me for rides.
