Vibes 2012 my 2 cents

VIP: worth every penny! I really expected a collection of snobbish clowns and ended up finding some really cool people to chill with under the tent. The express entrance (30 minutes from standing in the line to having my tent set up) was so priceless compared to last year. The only negative was the food, it was rather boring for people that don't eat dead animals.
Staff, security, police= not a single negative thing to say, they really seemed to make sure everyone had a good time while having a good time making some money. Even the hotline people put up with a few of my calls and were rather nice (pretty sure I entertained them or at least I entertained myself).
Concert goers: not a single asshole to be found! Random conversations with 100's of people, sharing beers, other stuff or even a smile and a quick hello....everyone brought their happy face....except for the skunk.
Music: such a small part of why I go but it was good except for the lack of reggae 24/7 and Primus. Oh and just my 2 cents but the talent on the Green Vibes stage exceeds the talent on the main stage. Sort of sucks though that the sound stage or whatever it's called is hogging up the down front area. Also, way way way too small of an area for "The Machine". None the less it's a cool place to enjoy talented people.
Boardies: so cool putting faces to names! We have some of the coolest people here and at the festivals! Meeting people for the 1st time or 10th time and sharing in a smile/greeting or conversation...... Oh and the boardie picnic, pig roast and random get togethers.....so much fun. Wish I was better and remembering names....
Banned Camp: no clue how they put up with me.....but a thanks for doing so. Had a blast camping with really heady people there.
Took 1200 +/- pictures but no clue if people here don't want their pic up on the board. When I get caught up I'll post a slideshow over at youtube leaving people out if they don't want to be in it.
Thanks!

I also agree on the wed holiday inn stay being the best idea yet, and have never had a second thought about the value of vip.

There never seems to be enough time, it is always over so quick. Great to meet so many new faces at the boardie picnic, great to see so many familiar faces everywhere.
I truly love you all.

Depends, that "security bimbo" was quite the super sleuth..her big tip on the wrist band counterfeiter was that "he was wearing a tie-dyed shirt" what?!
Too many great conversations and moments to put into words..its all a wonderful blur.

Just landed back home at 11:30. Excellent time was had by the whole family. Great to see friends old and new, and always happy to be able to put more faces with the names on here. I too wish I was better at remembering names.
Glad to "say" goodbye one more time on the road. Don't know how you made the 2 extra hours past us. We were getting pretty tired once on I-90.
I am sorry that, once again, we missed hang out time in nearby group camps. Guess I'm just too much a homebody even when out camping with the best group of hippies and bohemians I know. I'm glad I threw in the Bagend sign in at the last minute...heard many people use it as a landmark to find "home" so that was good. The skunk passed by the fence by us at least 2 nights, but no spraying was noticed, thanks be.
Now to peel the rest of that sticky crap off the bus...and even the ez up. Not a bad price to pay for shade, but it feels disgusting and will undoubtedly get harder to remove with time!
Tomorrow we're off to New Paltz with Katie for orientation. "This livin' off the road..is getting pretty old..."

So many laughs, so many great memories. So great to see all of you & meet some of you for the first time. I didn't get to spend nearly enough time with everyone.
Lots of Love

The best part of Vibes for both Tyler and I was that every time we turned around there was a friendly face smiling at us, sharing laughter, and giving us a loving hug - getting to know folks better and having the opportunity to develop the bonds of our friendship has been greatly rewarding for us both - we love, admire, and appreciate all of the friendships this community has brought us and feel grateful and blessed for all of the positive love and energy that is so generously shared.
That love and friendship trumped any of the fantastic music that went on all weekend.

Such a great weekend!! We stopped going to Vibes 5 years ago because it got too huge & too sketchy - so kudos to everyone involved in bringing it back to the fantastic festival I know & love!!!!
