I just went in and sang him box of rain. Now I can't stop crying...
so beautiful
he's gone.... i am both very sad and very relieved.
thank you all so much for the love and support and songs.
my dad loved the grateful dead. i took him to his 1st show in the mid 80's at the long beach arena. he said, "now i'm one of you!" we did a lot of family shows over the years.
summer, i cant stop crying after reading this thread
thank you for letting us share our love for you during this immensely personal and emotional time
please lean on us as needed and as much as we can do from this side of the interwebz, we will, and i know i speak for all of us
you gave him laughter, family and music during his last hours and that is an amazing gift
so much love to you and your family

i have had so much wonderful support here in this thread over the past few days which were a few of the most difficult days of my life. i am constantly amazed by the support and love i receive from my extended family. vibes has been an amazing source for me, for more than just any one reason.all of this outpouring has been invaluable. i don't even know how to describe it adequately or express my gratitude properly
i feel like i just passed a huge rite of passage. i now understand those of you who have been through this and can hopefully help any of you who have yet to experience it. i give my heart freely to you, my friends

your gratitude manifests itself in the love you share with all of us
there's no need to feel you have to express more. you have, do and always will express it just as it should be and I know I'm speaking for everyone when we say we feel that from you perfectly.

i posted this on fb but i want to post it here too:
my uncle don sent me a nice note this morning. he is my mom's brother and probably my favorite relative. this was part of it; Buddha said you die twice, the first time physically and the second when everyone you touched and who knew you no longer remain. Your dad will be with us for a long time yet.
